Sue James, Supervising Solicitor – Housing
Sue has worked in a number of law centres and private practice and has been a housing lawyer for over 20 years. She has extensive experience of providing advice and representation at possession court duty schemes as well as experience in the mental health and community care fields.
Sue is one of the founding trustees at Ealing Law Centre and writes a regular column in Legal Voice.
Renata Burns, Housing Solicitor
Renata completed her training contract at a leading legal aid firm in London, where she specialised in housing and community care law. She has extensive experience of assisting vulnerable clients in possession proceedings and regularly represents defendants as an advocate at housing possession court duty schemes. Additionally Renata is knowledgeable in all aspects of homelessness law and in assisting clients in homelessness-related judicial review proceedings.
Renata is a committee member of Junior Housing Lawyers Practitioners Association.
Sara Taylor, Housing Solicitor
Sara joined HFLC in 2016. She has worked in the not for profit legal advice sector for 14 years, 9 of these practising as a housing solicitor.
Sara’s practice covers all areas of possession and homelessness. She is an experienced advocate and appears as the duty solicitor at Wandsworth County Court each Monday. She has run many advice sessions, the most current being a housing advice session at the Fulham Foodbank. Sara has a particular specialism in human rights and housing and in representing clients with mental health problems.
Surinder Matharu, Supervising Solicitor, Immigration
Surinder joined HFLC in 2005.
Rajwinder Sahota, Immigration Caseworker
Rajwinder joined HFLC in 2017.
Simone McGlynn, Receptionist and Administrative Support
Simone joined HFLC in 2008. She is the first point of contact for all our visitors.
Simone has travelled extensively and worked in many other industries. Her last role was as a receptionist for a private immigration solicitor.
