Early Legal Advice
We may be able to provide you with free legal advice and assistance through the Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service at an early stage.
If you have received a written notice that someone is seeking possession of your home, we may be able to assist you. A written notice can be an email, a letter, a notice, or court papers.
This service is available to people regardless of their income and savings.
Our housing team may provide advice through this service on:
- Illegal eviction
- Rent arrears
- Mortgage arrears
- Benefits issues
- Debts
- Disrepair and other problems with housing conditions
Contact us at 0203 880 1727 or reception@hflaw.org.uk if you would like early legal advice from our housing team.
In Court Duty Scheme
We may be able to provide you with free legal advice and advocacy at a court hearing through the In Court Duty Scheme. This scheme is available to people at danger of eviction or having the property where you reside repossessed.
We cover the Brentford County Court and Wandsworth County Court under this scheme.
If you have a court hearing, arrive at the court at least 30 minutes before the hearing starts.
When you arrive, tell the court usher that you would like to speak to the duty solicitor.
