Our Story

Hammersmith & Fulham Law Centre celebrates 40 years of serving our local community with specialist, independent, legal representation and advice services.

We are proud of our achievements in delivering legal advice to the most vulnerable sectors of the community. Legal advice that prevents eviction and homelessness, secures rights and entitlements, challenges injustice and makes a difference to the lives and wellbeing of the many people and families we have advised and represented.

40 years of serving our local community

In the four decades since our inception the legal advice sector and voluntary sector has changed dramatically. We have witnessed severe cuts to legal aid, removing and restricting areas of social welfare law from its scope, in turn denying many people the right of redress to challenge unfair decisions. At the same time, cuts to voluntary advice sector funding, resulting in service reduction and closure, has left fewer agencies to turn to for those suffering the worst effects of austerity measures.

Hammersmith & Fulham Law Centre has continued to survive over four decades, and to deliver responsive advice services in a hostile environment. We are grateful to everyone who has played a part and contributed to our work over this time.

We are confident we will continue as a dynamic and responsive community resource for the future.
